Felix Schönbrodt obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 from the Humboldt-University Berlin and currently works at the Department Psychology of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, Germany. His research interests include implicit and explicit motives, quantitative methods, research synthesis, data visualization, and issues revolving around open science and the replicability of research. One special focus is to provide statistical packages in R and interactive statistical web apps that can be used for teaching and for an enhanced understanding and usage of quantitative methods (http://www.shinyapps.org).

Dr. Schönbrodt has been remarkably active in promoting research transparency and open science. He led the development of the guidelines on data sharing from the German Psychological Society and has shared a suite of online tools he developed to explore transparency and help researchers improve their workflows. He also initiated an Open Science Committee at Ludwig-Maximilians University, the Network of Open Science Initiatives (NOSI), and the “Commitment to Research Transparency.” Dr. Schönbrodt has also given a multitude of talks and workshops on reproducibility and developed a course about open science and transparency for undergraduate and graduate students.
