Isaac Handley-Miner BITSS CatalystPsychology

Isaac J. Handley-Miner is a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at Boston College, where he explores how people conceptualize truth, assess the credibility of information sources, and determine which information to trust. With a strong commitment to open science, he is particularly interested in using metascientific approaches to evaluate research methodologies within psychology. Prior to joining the Morality Lab in Fall 2020, Isaac earned his B.A. in Economics from Hamilton College and gained experience as a lab manager at Stanford University. His Catalyst project, “Transparent Piloting: Understanding Researcher Practices and Attitudes Towards Reporting Pilot Studies in Psychology,” surveyed researchers about their piloting practices and attitudes towards piloting practices. This data will inform a meta-assessment of current piloting reporting practices and the development of a tool to facilitate the reporting of pilot studies.
